This time my biking headed right out of Foster Falls toward Pulaski on the New River Trail. Great ride! After making the turn back stumbled across a great little place not far from there called the Draper Mercantile and Trading Company. Glad I did since I was famished and needed to have nourishment for the soul. After conferring with the waitress, I settled on the recommendation of a chicken salad croissant with tomato bisque soup. What a tasty delight. Perfect for the 25 miles or so ahead of me. Not too heavy but enough to carry me back to the ole 4runner. Also, the restaurant store was quite interesting in its food, wares, coffee, and other do-dads. So make sure you make this stop on your journey!
(As long as I can remember, folks have told me the best part of the New River trail was from Foster falls and going to either Galax or Fries. Not so sure about this since I enjoyed going toward Pulaski too. So, I think it is an even match. Either way gives excellent views and scenery. The fall foliage this time of year was magnificent!)
