9220 John Tyler Memorial Hwy

Charles City, VA 23030

Location/Directions

How in the heck did we end up at this place is still a mystery to me, but glad we did.  I left Historic Jamestown and was heading home via Apple Maps. I wasn’t sure where we were at, but I felt it was just slightly outside of the sticks.  We were starveated and needed some nourishment, and we turned to Siri’s audio search feature. And sure enough, there was an immediate target on the right, which we slid by but managed to pull a U.  After coming about we came to some fine feasting at a rejuvenated turn-of-the-century swank farmhouse.  I had a Gryo and slaw, while Annabelle opted for some greenery.  Bout as good as it gets for an impromptu lunchtime eating!  If you pass by, it is more than worth a stop.

(As to Historic Jamestown, now this place is the real deal rather than the Jamestown Settlement, a Disney-like distortion that should be avoided.  The Historic Site was on the mark regarding historical accuracy, archeological digs, and museums.  So skip the BS and go here instead.  Note.. I also scored a pretty neat hand-blown colonial blue jigger that is now my favorite!)
