After getting scalded in the summer sun reconnoitering the Chickamauga battlefield hoping to hear some echoing Rebel Yells, I hustled out of there so I could get to Lookout Mountain for some afternoon exploring. However, I had to get some nourishment before taking on the heat again, and the Purple Daisy was right on the way.  Glad I did because it was the bomb, or should I say, cannon shot!  Best new Q place I have visited in a couple of years.  Had a simple fare of pork barbecue sandwich and baked beans washed down with a gallon of 1/2&1/2.  What a delight! The Q was lightly smoked pulled pork and some mightily tasty slaw topping.  Although it did not really need sauce, I did dabble with their Original (vinegar & ketchup) and Sweet Sauces. Quite fine, but the Original has a little less punch than NC Piedmont, but it fits nicely. Now, their baked beans were the mac daddy of all baked beans.  Heck, it is just worth going back there for this scrumptious fare that they have concocted.  So, as you can see, I was quite enamored with this place and sure you will be too!

After lunch, I visited Point Park Battlefield Park, on top of Lookout Mountain.  It was hotter than you know what, but I got to see some amazing views.  I liked it so much that after taking a respite in the air-conditioned museum, I did the circuit again. Just as good the second time around!
