Location/Directions

The first day of our travels in the historic triangle of Virginia was done via a tour bus that shuttled us back and forth from Jamestown to Yorktown.  In between, we stopped for lunch on the outskirts of Williamsburg for a fabulous feast at a delightful spot.  It served an old-time southern meal that fit well into our Colonial travels.  We all had Ms. Melinda’s special fruit salad, Brunswick Stew, and hot Country Ham on homemade biscuits.  It was followed by pie, and all were accompanied by sweet tea.  The setting and menu were the cat’s meow, and nailed it for our historical adventure.  I heartily recommend it to all who visit this area.

Our travels went as planned, and the bus tour was a good overview that gave us a path to explore the area more deeply later in the week.  Besides the lunch, the day’s highlight was the Yorktown Battlefield Historic Park.  The Jamestown Settlement/Museum, except for the ships, were, unfortunately, along the lines of one of Mister Peabody’s Fractured History lessons.
