On my overnight trips to Columbia I always make Pearlz a stop. Usually I stay at the Hampton in the Vista and do a little stroll round the State Capital for some exercise time. Lots of interesting historical sights, monuments, and markers abound in that area. After getting my fill I slide back down to the Vista to wet my whistle and generally one of my first stops is Pearlz. Although they have a good craftie menu, I more likely than not opt for a tall Guinness. Why you may ask? Well simply because it goes perfectly with the dozen of the steamed Oysters I just ordered. Nirvana at its best, however, you need to make sure that the Oysters being served that day have some size to them. Well at least I do anyway. Mostly opt for the house oysters unless prompted by waitress. In any extent after scoffing these dozen down, I am like that proverbial mouse asking for a cookie, yep I usually order another and another (especially if I am traveling with a co-worker). Usually it winds up I end up eating dinner there which is pretty good too. So if you are ever in Columbia staying and traveling the Vista, I would heartily recommend.
