After a super strenuous 10-mile bike ride down the river walk and Piedmont Medical trail, Ironman and I had our eyes set on luncheon delights. Right, where we parked was the PumpHouse restaurant, a former old textile plant water pumping station that stood over the Catawba river for over a half-century. After adorning acceptable clothing for this somewhat upscale eatery, we took the elevator to the restaurant for a bit of bidness talk. We decided to have a seat at the bar that looked out over the river, and more importantly to IM was the Little League championship on the tube. Now me, I was just damn glad we had A/C since it was well over ninety on the trail. In any case, we opted for some nice bar eat appetizers since there was still another trail to be had, and we needed to travel light. All was good, and we will be back. Hopefully, it will be more cooler, and we can sit outside next time. See you there!
(Pump House History …. Also there is a pretty neat railroad trestle on the trail that is on the historical site of the Native American ford named Nations Ford. British even used it in the revolution before they got caught in a Hornets Nest of a place of Charlotte.)
