Whoa, this place is in the middle of nowhere, but that just makes for better eating, right? Yes, you’re dang tooting. Anyway, found this little jewel on my way to the annual boy’s beach trip to Pawley’s. Wasn’t too far out of my more normal 521 route, but gotta stop and smell the Q sometimes! Had a pork sandwich with slaw and some pork’n beans. Washed it down with some ice cold southern half and half tea. Good stuff. Wish it was closer and I hear another one may appear in Waxhaw. Great, right on the road home from my weekly or so trek to Columbia. So look forward to trying more of their fare in the future. So stop and get that pulled pork sandwich and then pull a toofer and get a slice of history by visiting the site below.
(As a side note, the present location is only a mile or so away from a revolutionary war historical site and one of the most infamous massacres this side of the Mississippi. Not much to view, but if you read about here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Waxhaws then you can put the visit into perspective. While you do, please say some prayers for our many continental’s boys who died there to make this country free!)
