Didn’t know what to think about this place. A shack of a building with a cooker outside in front. Must mean good Q and so it was! True BBQ is quite different than the most of the traditional barbecue places in Columbia (except of course Maurice’s). It was not buffet style, it was order from the counter and then find your seat. I had the small plate of barbecue with hash, collards, fried okra, and tea. All on disposable barbecue ware with plastic utensils. The barbecue was quite sweet and succulent. It came with a mustard and tomato base sauces on the side. Actually did not need either at all since the cue was cooked to eat without sauce. Quite different than most of the barbecue I have had in the middlings of SC. They owners sport that their hash is the best in South Carolina. I am hear to tell you they are probably correct. It was excellent. All in all this was quite a feast. I will have to give it another whirl or two to see if it makes the grade to “Destination Q” in the future. My bet is that it might!
