This is one restaurant/historical site you don’t want to miss.  Also, it kept us in sync with our WWII time trip since it was founded in 1941.  The restaurant is still held by the original family, and we are glad it is since it serves up some delicious morsels.  I started out with the gumbo that is in the Creole tradition of being golden brown and packed with all sorts of goodies – shrimp, crab, chicken, and you name it.  What a treat, but only had the cup since there was more to come.  Yes, I had the exceptional oyster po’ boy that was served on a sesame seed roll with some select oysters and lettuce.  The side was some nice fries.  I must mention the better half’s stuffed gumbo shrimp meal that she said was magnificent.  Her side was the onion rings served with horseradish sauce.  Guess who got more than a few of these?  So, were we back to catch a nap after this feast, nope, it was more of the museum!
