After rambling down the American Tobacco Trail, I decided on a diversion to seek some Eastern NC Q before my journey home. It was a little out of the way, but what the heck? I have always wanted to visit this place. As you might have guessed, I had the usual fare minus the puppies. The eastern style Q was just right with white slaw on top and, of course, in the prerequisite soft white bun. The homemade fries were excellent, as well as the H&H tea. The sauce was a peppery vinegar that suited the Q just as it should. If you get near the place, you need to give it a whirl!
(As to the ATT trail, it was not what I expected. Did not spy any old tobacco barns nor anyone playing hoops in the many pop-up subdivisions. Mostly outside of I-40 going south, it was pine tree-lined (minus the pic below) that bordered on monotonous if it wasn’t so doggone soothing. So skip the Xanex and take this ride!)
