After doing about half of the New River Trail, I was starvated. Luckily, this Q restaurant was around the corner, and I just had to try. Glad I did since I have now designated it on the “DESTINATION Q” list. Due to my negligent map reading abilities, I was a Johnny come lately patron. Waitresses were gone, but the super nice Cook waited on me and brought me up to snuff about the delicious offerings. I had the brisket sandwich with molasses-based Que sauce with some slaw, puppies, and half-half tea. All were delicious, but the brisket was the standout for sure. After partaking, the cookie twisted my arm and made me try what she claimed was the “World’s Best” banana pudding. They sell it in 2-8oz portions. You know something, she was right. Best dang nana pudding I ever had. With this fine dessert and the fantastic brisket, it is well worth the drive if you are close to this vicinity. Also, opt for the 8oz of pudding!!!
(Terrific time on the trail. If I hadn’t missed the turn, I would have ended up in Fries, VA, and would have missed this restaurant for sure. Don’t let this happen to you!)
