After a hard day hiking the Pisgah trails around Brevard with Weave and Wing there is nothing better than stopping off at Oskar Blues Brewery. This is one of Oskar’s several locations in the grand ole USA that serve up the great brews and some signature sandwiches. Some of their other locations have restaurants, but the Brevard site has a food truck. However, from what I hear, same great food. The format is somewhat funky in retrieving both food and brew in a kind of a reverse IE counter intuitive mode of operations, but somehow this just adds to mystique of the place. My guess it is due to the beers, but what the heck do I know anyway. Anyway, usually get the CHUBurger and then take the steps to grab a brew and sit inside. The burger is Angus and is big and cooked to order. I usually have mine all the way with cheese. Sometimes I get the fries depending on how close to din din we are, but always start off with a Dales Pale Ale. Nothing could be finer and quicker to put an end to my growling stomach and mask my aching feet than this combination. So if you in hiking mode and even if you are not, don’t pass up this opportunity if you are in the Brevard locale.
