Few weeks back we were coming down I-77 from a boy’s golfing trip at Stu’s in the mountains and Captain D wanted some Q. However, it was Sunday and while Cap drove I tried to google my favorites. Unfortunately they were all closed. All I thought was bummer until this site popped up. From the reviews it looked promising, but then again you never know. In any case it looked like this was it or Irish food would be our fate for lunch. So we rolled the dice and then rolled into Troutman, NC. Since there was a crowd we decided to eat at the counter which happened to be a good choice for some quick service. We had the usual testing fare of pork sandwich, puppies and tea. However, did add some rings. Actually did not need this whole affair since the large sandwich was HUGE! Nevertheless, we did get most of it tucked in quite nicely. The sandwich was NC piedmont style and puppies were tasty. I would definitely have to say that this was the best Q on I-77 from the VA line to Charlotte for sure. Cap said it might be the best he has ever had. In any case it was vastly superior to my golf game which ain’t so hot. So y’all go give it a try and please give me a shout of what you think. (fyi…went to the WSO tournament last week and stopped here again for a pick-up… please let it be noted.. it travels well and eats even better)
