In my neck of the woods The Fresh House would be considered a “meat and two”. However, since it has a country store attached, it is something a little more. So more similar to a one-off Cracker Barrel. Food was good. Since it was Sunday for lunch I had the fried chicken with green beans, mac and cheese, and cornbread. All washed down by good ole southern half and half tea. Nothing could be finer except I failed to mention the desserts. As some of you know I usually do not partake sweets, but Annabelle was with me and she wanted vanilla Ice Cream. So I got in a few spoonfuls, well maybe more than that, but anyway it was like homemade, but better. It was like eating snow cream back when I was a kid (without of course the threat of 1960’s Soviet nuclear radiation). So certainly all in all a most positive eating experience. Can’t wait to stop there again on my way to Albemarle!
