I was ready for nourishment after doubling down on the Kings Mountain Gateway trail. I had Blackwood’s in my sites for some feasting, and it lived up to the task. It was a drive-in straight out of the sixties, and I thought I saw Ritchie and the Fonz circling the establishment! Then it was time to chow, and I got the all the all-the-way tasty jumbo cheeseburger with rings and their signature drink. This was no ordinary drink but a Cherry “Golden Silencer,” which was quite good. However, it scared the tar out of me when I took off the top to crunch the ice without looking. I thought I had a mouthful for spiders. Luckily, it was just cherry stems, and I ate the sweet red stuff up greedily on my return home. Hey, don’t let this place pass you by while spinning south on I-85. Worth the trip for sure!
As the Kings Mountain Gateway trail, this thing had something for everyone. From the parking, there were a couple of really nice walking trails and a rather hilly ride for the mountain bikers. Glad I had the Egreenhornet with me, or I would have been sunk. However, with this extra boost in mind, I did everything twice and got about 12 out of it. Enough to be tired and ready for Blackwood’s!
