If you are in Charleston and you get tired of eating fried seafood this is a worthy alternative for giving your taste buds a delicious red meat treat.  This locale is on the upper end of the spectrum in terms of price and atmosphere.  It is right up there with the Palm, Capital Grill, Ruth Chris, etc….  However, it is locally owned and managed which places it in a different light as to these upper end chains.  One that puts it in my estimation a tiny smidgen ahead of these other great steakhouses.  I started off with a half of Hall’s chop salad which was no doubt the best salad I have ever eaten.  I followed it with prime rib that was delightful.  I thought I was back in the 70’s when Prime Rib was the mac daddy of all high end beef cuts.  This was for a good reason….because it was!  Also, we ordered numerous side dishes that included collard greens, cream corn, sautéed mushrooms, and lobster macaroni and cheese.  All terrific and in fact you could have made a whole meal off the LobMac & Cheese!  Also, downed a few rounds of red cab.  Yes, I know red wine for the beer guy was unusual, but in Rome do as the Romans as in Charleston do the smart thing and go to Hall’s when you have that red meat craving and extra casharoo on hand.
