Uhm… High Plains BBQ, can almost picture Eastwood walking out the saloon door with some Spaghetti Western music blaring. But nah, this fine establishment is located in Virginie. Go figure! Well anyway in the past, Old Dominion was not exactly a hot spot for the Q stuff, but as my wanderings have proved in recent years, things have certainly been picking up. This especially holds true hold for High Plains. You order at the counter from some exceptionally nice folks and then eat outside or in an enclosed area. I had a pulled pork sandwich with collards and washed it down with some H&H. Both pork and collards were a bit spicy compared to my usual fare but were well in the buoys for fine eating. So, if you are traveling near Wytheville, this little jewel should be a stop-off!
